Carlo Ancelotti becomes the first manager to capture titles in each of Europe's top five leagues; Real were able to rest Karim Benzema ahead of Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg against Man City; Marcelo now Real's most successful player with 24 trophies at the club

It's been a rollercoaster ride for Real Madrid since Carlo Ancelotti took over as head coach in 2022. They have won the La Liga title and the Spanish Super Cup, but they have also won their 14th champion's league trophy and lost to Barcelona in the last classico.

Nonetheless, Madrid are still one of the favourites to win La Liga again in 2022/2023. They have a strong squad with experienced players like Sergio Ramos, Luka Modric and Karim Benzema, as well as promising youngsters like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes.

However, they will face stiff competition from teams like Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Valencia, who are all eager to dethrone Los Blancos. Can Real Madrid retain their La Liga title in the 2022/2023 season? We'll have to wait and see…

Real Madrid are the reigning La Liga champions, having won the title in 2020/21. They will be looking to retain their crown in the 2022 season, and will no doubt be favourites to do so.

However, they will face stiff competition from a number of other teams, including Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. It is sure to be an exciting season of football in Spain's top flight, and Real Madrid will need to be at their best if they are to come out on top once again.

Although La Liga is one of the most competitive leagues in the world, Real Madrid have shown over the past few years that they are a cut above the rest. They have won three out of the last four league titles and there is no reason to suggest that they will not be in contention for the title once again in 2022/2023
